BUFFALO ROSE BEANIE & COWL

$10.00

KITS available from Wool & Palette!

The Buffalo Rose series was born of an inspired moment: to pay homage to the mixed aesthetic and artistry of the city of Portland, Oregon and honor its folklore and history. Portland is known as the City of Roses, nestled amongst dense, lifegiving forestry and populated for years by rugged peoples living and working close to the land. Yet there is an intricacy and deliberateness to the city itself, modern and classic at the same time.

Buffalo Rose Beanie & Cowl is the latest pattern in the series, allowing for small bites of this motif to accent your fall and winter wardrobe. Portland-based Wool & Palette’s scrumptious, ethically sourced and naturally dyed yarn perfectly complements the design’s tribute to our relationship with the gifts of the Earth.

Two-in-one: This pattern includes directions for both the beanie and cowl. Both are knit bottom up, starting with a tubular cast on and transitioning directly into the colorwork chart.

Buffalo Rose Beanie: Decreases for crown shaping are written into the colorwork chart for an allover pattern from bottom to top.

Buffalo Rose Cowl: A little more than halfway up, decreases are made steadily up the front half of the cowl for a snugger fit around the neck! Finish with a tubular bind off at the top to match the bottom.

Tutorial pattern: This pattern includes a detailed written tutorial, links to video tutorials, and a ladder placement guide chart to teach the Ladderback Jacquard method for catching floats in stranded colorwork.
